The second edition of the durational improvisation, On A New Day opened on the first day of 2021. From midday to sunset, performers sustain a sense of hope through storytelling under the gleam and shadow of real-time sunlight. The never-ending stories made up of endings from more than 50 film titles create the time and space we need for chances and impossibilities to arise in the dark times, suspending and yet inventing future at the same time.
 
The On A New Day series, launched since 2016 by Vee Leong and Performosa Theatre (Taiwan), has become a cross-cultural ritual held every two years around new year's days. The first edition took eight hours overnight to accomplish a 'work shift of imaginations, memories and creativity'.
